Front Desk View FDAC32 PowerPoint Overview
FDAC (an acronym for Front Desk Accounting Control) is a powerful property management system combining ease-of-use with no-compromise functionality. FDAC doesn’t do bells, lights, and whistles. It does what is required, in an efficient and effective manner that simplifies operations, reporting, and most importantly, allows you to provide total customer service and satisfaction. Fully integrated to the complete line of NorthSoft point of sale and accounting products, FDAC is your guest service and information clearinghouse, tying your systems together into a seamless, problem free environment that allows your staff to accommodate the needs of both guests and management.

Front Desk Accounting - Calendar
FDAC’s room calendar based user interface keeps operators in one screen, allowing them to manage reservations, in-house accounts, check-ins and checkouts on an ongoing basis throughout the hectic front desk day. The calendar view, reminiscent of a Microsoft Excel ™ spreadsheet, is clear, concise, and easy to understand. Buttons provide fast access to critical functionality while pull-down menus allow access to myriad functions of the guest stay process. Information windows surface details about rooms and dates, while popup menus and windows extend information handling and functionality access.
Front Desk Accounting - Room Reservation
Block information contains links to guest history, source of business, travel agency (supports travel agent accounting), various Room Rates (multiple rate systems), and Add On Packages.
Front Desk Accounting - Multiple Room Reservation Accounts
Multiple guest accounts can be posted to in Front Desk at any time. Guest accounts can be “checked in” for remote POS posting before actual Room check-in. An unlimited number of transactions can be posted to a Guest account, not only from the FDAC32 system, but from external NorthSoft applications such as Call Costing (which posts automatically based on call records from a telephone switch), Fine Dining POS, Cafeteria POS, Retail POS, and Ticketing POS. External transactions are posted via the NSS Transaction Broker. This ensures minimal LAN bandwidth usage and 100% posting reliability.
Resort Front Desk Accounting - Room Account Editing
Each guest account can be either associated with a Room Block (e.g. a reservation) or can stand by itself (for instance in the case of a house account for a group). There are many factors at the account level, such as Guest Counts, Credit information (which controls external POS ability to post), and of course general notes about the account (up to 16 pages of text per account).
Resort Front Desk Accounting - Posting Charges and Payments
Charges and Payments can be posted directly to Guest accounts in FDAC32.
Any Charge or Payment transaction can be viewed as a Journal Entry.
